Our Mission
The mission of Xiaopei Chinese Dance is to provide professional and authentic dance classes and programs; to showcase and promote the splendid Chinese culture through dance; and to develop and train talented, strong, graceful, and confident students and dancers.
其宗旨是传授教导正规和正宗的中国古典舞和民族民间舞；通过舞蹈来弘扬中国璀璨的文化、人文和艺术；培养出美丽优雅和自信的舞者。
Our Story
Xiaopei Chinese Dance, established in 2009, is a dance school and company well known and appreciated among the Bay Area’s Chinese communities.
Its founder is Xiaopei He Gelb, a renowned Chinese dancer and choreographer who was once a principal dancer with the China Central Song and Dance Ensemble of Nationalities (now known as the China National Ethnic Song and Dance Ensemble); won the Gold Medal at Japan’s Saitama International Creative Dance Competition and was the solo dancer selected at the 2004 “Year of China in France.” She was the Chief Director of the 2008 San Francisco Cow Palace Gala in celebration of the Beijing Olympics that same year; the Executive Director of the special “2017 Overseas Edition” of “The Same Song Concert” (an immensely popular TV show in China produced by the China Central Television and broadcast at the San Francisco Cow Palace); a choreographer for the 2017 China Central Television Spring Festival Gala in San Francisco; the Chief Director of the 2020 San Francisco Lunar New Year Parade Opening Dance; the producer of many stage productions in the Bay Area; a Chief Judge and organizer of the Sing Tao and NCCCAF dance competitions; the Chief Artistic Director of the WeShine World Dance Competition; and she is the president of the non-profit US Chinese Dance Association and the Huaxing Arts group San Francisco.
Students and dancers at Xiaopei Chinese Dance have given back to the community by sharing Chinese culture through dance at various cultural performances and celebrations throughout the Bay Area community, including Pleasanton, San Ramon, Dublin, Livermore, Danville, Walnut Creek, Hayward, Benencia, Vacaville, and San Francisco. Students have also performed countless times at many different stage productions and public venues throughout the Bay Area and in China, including being featured at the Warriors NBA Halftime Show during their Lunar New Year game in 2024, 2025, and 2026; the Warriors NBA Halftime Show during the Asian Heritage Night game in 2025 as well as the San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade opening performance in 2020, 2025, and 2026. Students have also won awards at numerous competitions, such as Showstopper (19x Crystal Award winner), Starbound National Talent Competition, WeShine World Dance Competition, In10sity Dance, Legacy Dance Challenge, Kids Artistic Revue (KAR) National Dance Competition, International Dance Challenge, Hall of Fame, and overseas dance competitions in China. The studio also received the highest honorary title of Elite Studio of Xcellence from the In10sity Dance competition in 2025.
“晓佩舞蹈”成立于2009年, 是享誉旧金山湾区的学院制舞蹈表演团体。
其创办者何晓佩老师是旅美知名舞蹈艺术家。原中央民族歌舞团首席演员。现任美国华人舞蹈家协会主席；旧金山华星艺术团团长。晓佩老师曾在日本国际创作舞蹈比赛获金奖；在北京保利国际剧院举办过个人舞蹈专场《女人、情感、生命》; 在央视春节联欢晚会以及全国各地电视晚会中领舞；曾代表中国艺术家出访过许多国家。曾任2009旧金山牛宫《同一首歌》执行导演；2017央视《飘洋过海来看你》舞蹈编导；以及各类大型文艺晚会的总导演。是《星岛中国舞大赛》《国际武术舞蹈邀请赛》《全球华人中华才艺舞蹈大赛—美西选拔赛》《世界舞蹈之星大奖赛》等重要比赛活动的总策划和主要组织者。
薪传中国舞艺，传播中国文化，教舞育人，桃李芬芳，影响非凡。晓佩舞蹈的师生们除了每年公演外，还有很多机会参加大型演出，艺术节和社区公益演出，列如，2024、2025、2026年旧金山勇士篮球队NBA春节比赛的中场表演、2025年旧金山勇士篮球队亚洲文化夜的中场表演及2020、2025、2026年旧金山农历新年花车游行开场舞等。17年来，师生们共同实习和创作了近五百个舞蹈作品；有记录的大小艺术和公益表演场次达几百场，并在各类比赛中，如WeShine World Dance Competion, Showstopper （19次获得最高荣耀水晶奖）, Starbound National Talent Competition, WeShine World Dance Competition, In10sity Dance, Legacy Dance Challenge, Kids Artistic Revue (KAR) National Dance Competition, International Dance Challenge，等多次获得大奖，更在2025 In10sity Dance Competition中斩获”年度卓越精英工作室”的最高荣誉称号。
